RCTC football pulls away in the second half to down Central Lakes 20-6

Rochester, MN - The RCTC Yellowjackets and Central Lakes Raiders were locked in a defensive duel throughout the first half of their game on Saturday.  RCTC lead 2-0 at the break on a first quarter safety.  In the second half RCTC took control with a TD and two-point conversion in the third quarter, before scoring 10 points in the final frame to win 20-6.

Desmond Washington was 12-19 for 153 yards in the game, while Devin Gonalez was 5-11 for 37 yards and a TD.  Marcaveus Washington had 7 carries for 27 yards and a score, while receiver Bobby Jackson had a big game with 6 catches for 101 yards.  Cam Miller had 4 catches for 34 yards with a long of 15, while Josh Byrne had the Jackets 2nd TD on a 2-yard TD reception.

Defensively RCTC got big games from a number of players.  Harold Mesumber had 13 tackles including 2 tackles for loss, while King General Thompson and Robert Shively each had 8 tackles.  Shively added a pair of sacks as well.  Daniel Graham had 7 tackles including 2.5 sacks a forced fumble and 2 fumble recoveries, while Ethan Spencer and Marcel Cross each picked up a sack.  Coaleon Johnson had 7 tackles a fumble recovery and an interception.

RCTC takes to the road this coming weekend as the travel north to Mesabi Range for a 2:00 kick-off.
