Rochester, MN - The RCTC Yellowjackets 14 game win streak came to an end with a 6-0 loss to St. Cloud Tech, but the Jackets bounced back to earn the split of the double-header with a 5-4 win in game two.
In what started out as a pitchers duel between RCTC's Drew Simmons and St. Cloud's Christian Lessman, the Cyclones took control late for a 6-0 win. Through 5 innings the two pitchers hadn't sllowed a a single run between them before St. Cloud got 5 hits and 6 runs in the 6th inning to secure the win. Zebastian Bolduc was 2-3 for the Jackets in game one.
Game two proved to be more of the same as the two starters pitched well. Drew Beier for St. Cloud allowed 3 runs on 7 hits over 6 innings, while RCTC starter Alec Dietl went 7 innings allowing 9 hits and 4 runs to earn the win. RCTC's Jovan Marrero-Soto provided the late game heroics, as he provided a two run walk-single to give the Jackets the win. Yanseph Llanos was 2-3 with a run scored, while Gustavo Gonzalez had a 2 run home run, and Zebastian Bolduc was 1-3 with a triple and a run scored.
The Jackets will finish the regular season on Monday with a non-conference game against Minnesota Post Grad. The games will be at RBC#4 at 2:00 and 4:30pm. RCTC will then play in the Region XIII tournament in St. Cloud on Thursday, May 12th. Seeds and gametimes for the tourney will be released late Monday afternoon or early Tuesday morning. The Jackets will most likely play at either 1:00pm or 4:00pm on Thursday, May 12th
