Rochester, MN - The RCTC Yellowjackets stepped out of divisional play on Wednesday and took on Anoka-Ramsey at Mayo Field. The Jackets won both games of the double-header (10-7 and 10-3) to run their win streak to ten games.
The Jackets got great starting pitching in both games as Alec Dietl got a no decision in game one despite going 3 innings, and allowing only 2 hits and 0 runs. Game two saw Logan Vogel throw a 6 inning gem, allowing only 1 run on 5 hits while striking out six to get the win.
In game one Carlos Martinez once again showed why he loves playing at Mayo Field. The freshman started things off with a two run home run in the first to give the Jackets a 2-0 lead. The home run was Martinez's 4th homerun in his last three games at Mayo Field. The Jackets got 2 RBI apiece from Martinez, Will Pacheco, Gabe Sepulveda, Zebastian Bolduc, and Jovan Marrero-Soto. Bolduc and Yanseph Llanos were both 3-4 in the game, while Pacheco and Sepulveda each picked up a pair of hits.
Game two saw the Jackets put up 5 runs in the second inning take an early lead. They then added 3 in the 5th and 2 in the 6th to secure the win. Logan Vogel made sure the early runs were enough as the freshman from Goodhue, MN kept the Golden Rams in check. Sepulveda picked up another 3 hits in 4 at bats with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Pacheco and Bolduc each picked up a pair of RBI's, while Christian Rivera scored 2 runs. CHris Cartwright pitched the 7th inning allowing only 1 earned run.
The Jackets are back in divisional play as they take on Western Tech in a weekend four game series. The two teams are scheduled (pending weather) to play Saturday aand Sunday. Saturday's games are in LaCrose, while Sunday's games are once again set for Mayo Field.
