RCTC volleyball gets 15 kills from Carrie Rutledge as they move to 20-0

LaCrosse, WI - The RCTC volleyball team continued its winning ways on Wednesday as they rolled through Western Technical College by the scores of 25-15, 25-19, and 25-21.  The #1 ranked Yellowjackets are now 20-0 on the season and 8-0 in the MCAC Southern Division.

RCTC's Carrie Rutledge continued her outstanding sophomore season as she totaled 15 kills and a .344 hitting percentage on the night.  The returning NJCAA All-American added 13 digs to lead the Yellowjackets as well.  Hayley Dessner hammered out 12 kills, while AnnMarie Jalmasco continued her offensive success with 9 kills and a .529 hitting percentage.

Setting the tone for the Jackets was sophomore Brekkin McCready who dished out 41 assists while adding 10 digs.  The Jackets had four players total double figures on the defensive side with Kate Bade (11) and Dessner (12), joining McCready and Rutledge. Dessner had 5 blocks in the match as well.

The Yellowjackets held WTC to only 26 kills in the three sets and a .091 hitting percentage.

For the season RCTC is leading the MCAC in hitting percentage (.283), kills per set (13.27), assists per set (13.20), and points per set (16.9).  The Jackets are 2nd in aces per set (2.33).

RCTC continues their road trip this weekend as they head down to Des Moines Area Community College for their final regular season tournament of the year.  The Yellowjackets face off on Friday against Highland Community College (Kansas) and Hawkeye Community College.  On Saturday, RCTC faces Johnson County Community College and DMACC.

RCTC is home for three matches next week.  They play host to MN West on Wednesday, October 9th at 6:30, before hosting Ridgewater on Friday (6:30) and MN State-Fergus Falls on Saturday (noon).
