RCTC Volleyball moves to 13-4 with sweep of St. Cloud

Rochester, MN - Behind 14 kills from freshman outside hitter Carrie Rutledge and a team hitting percentage of .277 the RCTC Yellowjacket volleyball team moved to 13-4 on the season and 6-0 in the MCAC.  The Yellowjackets downed St. Cloud Technical and Community College 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-21).

The Yellowjackets remained extremely efficient offensively hammering out 38 kills against only 12 errors on 94 attempts on the night.  Freshman Brekkin McCready led the offense dishing out 38 assists on the night while also picking up 10 digs and 2 blocks.   In addition to Rutledge's 14 kills, RCTC picked up 8 kills from Hailey Bahr, 7 kills from Mariah Steinbach, and 4 kills on 7 total attempts from AnnMarie Jalmasco.  Jalmasco also led the Jackets with 3 blocks on the night.

Defensively the Yellowjackets had 3 players record double digit digs, led by freshman DS Heid Wolf's 11.  Both Rutledge and Katlyn Bade recorded 10 digs on the night.  RCTC averaged nearly 20 digs per set, recording 60 digs in the 3 set match.

RCTC is right back on the court, stepping out of MCAC play and taking on NIACC at 11:00 Saturday, September 29th in the Sports Center.
