RCTC downs NIACC to move to 14-4

Rochester, MN - The Rochester Yellowjackets volleyball team stepped out of conference play on Saturday to take on NJCAA Division I NIACC on Saturday.  THe Jackets were riding an 8 match winning streak heading int ot eh match as well as a 24 set unbeaten streak.  Only one of theose streaks ended, as RCTC captured its 9th straight match win, dropping only one set in winning 3-1.

The Jackets (14-4 overall) won by the scores of 25-18, 15, 25, 25-21, and 25-22.  In a tightly contested match throughout both teams managed to hit at a peercentage much lower than their season averages.  The Jackets held NIACC to only .144 but were only able to manage a 143 hitting percentage themselves. Defensively the Jackets had 75 digs on the match includling: a team best 17 from Lexi Dudycha. Joing Dudycha in double figures were; Heidi Wolf (15), Carrie Rutledge (14), and Katlyn Bade (13). 

On the offensive side of the ball it was RUtledge once again leading RCTC with 25 kills (.340).  She was the only Jacket in double figures as Hailey Bahr contributed 9 kills, and Mariah Steinbach had 6. Brekkin McCready led the Jackets with 48 assists and narrowly missed a double-double with 9 digs.

RCTC is off until the weekend when the take part in the DMACC INvitational in Des mOines, IA this weekend.  The Jackets will be tested by Kirkwood CC, Highland CC - Kansas, Longview CC, and the host DMACC.  Matches begin on Friday evening at 6:00pm
