Anoka, MN - The RCTC Yellowjackets kept their unblemished conference record intact as the downd the Golden Rams of Anoka-Ramsey 3-0 on Wednesday night. Despite a bus breakdown and a late arrival to the court, the Jackets won the first set 25-11 before winning sets two and three 25-13 and 25-11.
The win moves RCTC to 15-8 overall and 7-0 in MCAC play. In their 7 MCAC wins the Jackets have yet to lose a set going a perfect 21-0 heading into the final 5 matches of the regular season.
In a twist for the Yellowjackets it was not the offense that carried them to the win it was defense and serving. The Yellowjackets had 45 digs, lead by Katlyn Bade with 13 and Alexis Dudycha with 7. The Jackets also had 12 ace serves for the match. Leading the way from the service line were Heid Wolf with 3 aces, wihile Carrie Rutledge and Brekkin McCready each added 2.
Offensively on the night the Yellowjackets had 36 kills and hit .333 as a team. Rutledge and AnnMarie Jalmasco each contributed 9 kills with Rutledge hit. 389 and Jalmasco hitting an impressive .538. Dakota Delaney was a perfect 4 for 4 hitting 1.000 for the match.
Every player on the Yellowacket roster saw the court on Wednesday night. RCTC is right back on the road on Friday, heading to take on rival St. Cloud Technical and Community College in a 6:30 start. St. Cloud currently sits at 3-4 in the league and 8-9 overall. RCTC wone the first match of the series 25-15, 25-13, 25-21 at home back on September 28th.
