Austin, MN - In a match full of momentum swings the RCTC Yellowjackets survived on the road in a five set thriller against host Riverland College. The Yellowjackets lost sets one and three in nailbaiting fashion (23-25 and 30-32) before rolling in sets two and four (25-13 and 25-15) to set up the decisive fifth set. RCTC got out of the gates early in set five and cruised to a 15-8 win to close out the match.
The Yellowjackets got a match (and season) high 20 kills from Tara Rogers who comkpleted the double-double with 16 digs. The middle hitter duo of Brooke Wendland and Mariah Steinbach contribured 17 and 15 kills respectfully, with both of them hitting at above a .300 clip. Kazlin Thompson and Anna Carney led the way defensively both reaching double digits in kills with 17 and 11. Maddie Hintz once again directed the offense with 50 of the teams 53 set assists.
The Yellowjackets are now off until Homecoming Week when they host Western Tech on October 11th at 6:30pm in a showdown at the Regional Sports Center.
