Rochester, MN - The Anoka-Ramsey Golden Rams used two goals in each half to down the Yellowjacket women's soccer team 4-1 on Sunday afternoon. The Rams scored 8 minutes into the first half and then again with only 1 minute remaining to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
The Yellowjackets got on the board early in the second half as MaKayla Day scored off a feed fromn Greta Cruz only 3 minutes into the frame to cut the lead to 2-1. For a good part of the next 20 minutes the Yellowjackets cfeated several good scoring opportunities, before a fluke goal, that trickled across the line through 3 players legs helped seal the game for Anoka.
In addition to Day's goal, RCTC got an outstanding performance from goalkeeper Sarah baack, as the sophomore stopped 16 shots on the afternoon.
The Yellowjackets next travel to Duluth to take on Lake Superior State on Sunday, October 7th before returning to their on home turf October 9th, taking on Faith Baptist College at 3:30pm
