Rosemount, MN - Coach Bryan Weiss and his Yellowjacket soccer team held the high-powered Dakota County Technical College Women's soccer team to only 1 goal in their opening season loss back on August 23rd, so last night's game was expected to be another defenisive struggle for the two teams. This was not the case as the two combined for 14 goals as DCTC downed the Yellowjackets for the second time this year, this time by the score of 10-4.
RCTC got on the board in the 28th minute as Micayla Biffert notched her first collegiate goal off a feed from Elisabeth Stelley. After the break the Jackets added three more tallies. The first on a direct kick by Jenna Madden at the 54th minute, followed by two goals for Greta Cruz (80th minute and 87th minute).
Sydney Vrieze, who was forced into action due to an injury to starting goalkeeper Sarah Baack made 12 saves in her first game in net.
RCTC takes the field at home on Saturday, September 8th against Lake Superior College. Kickoff is slated for 11:00am at the Rochester Regional Stadium on the RCTC campus.
