The RCTC Yellowjackets soccer team fell to the College of Lake County in a game that featured two very different halves of soccer. The two teams erupted for a combined seven goals in the first half, before settling into a second half defensive battle that featured only one tally.
Kallie Keller scored the Yellowjackets first goal of the season from a shot 20 yards out, cutting CLC's early lead to 2-1. Keller wasn't done as she scored the second goal for RCTC off an assist from Takota Tierney a few minutes later. Tierney followed up with a goal of her own on a curving corner kick that beat the keeper and tied the game at 3-3. A late first half goal by CLC gave them a 4-3 edge heading into the half.
Both teams settled into the contest and the goalkeepers kept it scoreless until the 86th minute when CLC ended the scoring on an indirect kick from 18 yeards out.
RCTC continues their weekend series with a game against The College of Dupage at 11 am on Sunday, September 17th.
