Second period proves costly for yellowjacket women

Madison, WI - Despite 13 points off the bench from freshman Arianna Owens the RCTC Yellowjackets fell on the road to the Madison Huskies 71-69.  It was a 24-13 disadvantage in the 2nd period that proved costly for Rochester.  The Yellowjackets jumped out early in the game taking a 23-18 lead at the end of the first, but a 24-13 outburst in the second propelled the Huskies to the win.  The 3rd period was close throught out, as Madiosn won the frame 17-16.  The RCTC defense stiffened the final period holding Madison to only 12 points, but the comeback fell just short as RCTC scored 17 leading to the final tally.

Joing Owens in double figures were Alyssa Whitson (13) and Abby Bauer (10). RCTC sophomore sharpshooter Grace RIley had a tough night from the floor shooting 2-11 for 9 points.  RCTC committed 22 turnovers on the night to Madison's 16.  On the defenisve side Abby Bauer had 5 steals and Owens had 3 as the Jackets had 12 steals.

RCTC is back at home after the Thanksgiving break, hosting Luther JV on Tuesday, November 27th; before jumping into league play with games on Friday the 30th and Saturday, December 1st against Northland and Itasca...
