Rochester, MN - The RCTC women's basketball team went on the road tonight and defeated Western Tech 78-43. The Yellowjackets got out to an early start winning the first quarter 22-11 before shutting down the Western offense in quarter number two allowing only 7 points to take a 38-18 halftime lead. The second half was more of the same, as the Jackets held Western to only 7 points in the fourth.
RCTC was lead in scoring by Olivia haug with 18 points. Nautika Kotero followed close behind with 17, and Grace Riley joined the duo in double figures with 10. Haug continued her dominant first year with another double-double, as she pulled down 11 rebounds.
In anpther outstanding defensive performance, the Yellowjackets forced 18 turnpvers and scored 26 points off of those turnovers. They held comanding edges in rebounding (53-37), second chance poiints (13-6), and steals (11-5).
RCTC is back in action travelling to Ridgewater College for a 1:00 tip-off on Saturday, February 10th.
