St. Cloud, MN - The RCTC women's basketball team used a huge 2nd period to down St. Cloud Tech 70-56 on Wednesday night to snap a 3 game skid to start the new year. RCTC outscored STCC 24-10 in that decisive frame and never looked back enroute to their 10th win of the season.
The Yellowjackets, now 10-4 on the year, were lead in scoring by Jalysa Cutting's 19 points. Joining Cutting in double figures were: Grace Riley (17), Olivia Haug (14), and Nautika Kotero (13). Haug added another double-double to her season stats, piling up 13 rebounds on the night.
RCTC was outshot in the game 40% to 44% however the key to the game came on the offensive glass. RCTC had 20 second chance points compared to only 6 for the Cyclones. The total rebound margin in the game favored the Yellowjackets 37-21.
RCTC returns home this weekend to take on Western Tech on the Performance Court inside the Rochester Sports Center. Game time is scheduled for 1:00pm
