RCTC moves to 7-1 with win over Mesabi Range

The RCTC women's basketball saw their winning streak end at 5 games last Tuesday night.  With their 66-45 win over Mesabi Range today they wasted no time in starting a new 2 games streak.  Lead by another double - double from Olivia Haug and a smothering defense, RCTC lead from the end of the first quarter (14-13) enroute to the win.  RCTC held Mesabi to 25% shooting on the contest including 24% (8-33) in the first half.  The jackets on the other hand were very efficient (and consistent) from the field shooting 48.1% in the first half, 48.35 in the second half, and 48.2% for the game.

Haug, who scored 10 points, added 15 rebound to record the double - double.  The Jackets were lead in scoring by Nautika Kotero who scored a game high 16 points.  The Jackets also added Abby Bauer (15), and Grace Riley (12) to the list of RCTC players to reach the double figure plateau.

RCTC held a 45-29 advantage on the boards, and only committed 5 fouls on the game.

The Yellowjackets are back in action next weekend as they head to Coon Rapids to play Bismarck State College on Saturday the 16th of December.  This game follows a rematch with Vermillion College at Coon Rapids on Friday night, December 15th.  RCTC defeated VCC 76-48 at Vermillion just last night.
