RCTC softball returns to the field after over a year off.

Austin, MN -  For the first time in over a year the RCTC softball ladies took the field Saturday February 24th at the Austin Packer Dome.Though faced with an exceptional Division 1 NIACC, the girls held their heads high. Some errors, inexperience at the plate and athletes having to play a new position lead to the loss. As the weekend progressed the Yellowjackets began to come together behind the leadership of pitcher Breeanna Burr.  She had 11 strike outs and 7 put outs in the tournament for her first college pitching experience.  The second day the Yellowjackets hit the ball better and defensively improved.  7 out of the 9 players got hits in the second day of competition.

Some of the highlights of day 2- Kylie Ahl went 4 for 6 with a 3 run home run, RBI double, scored 3 runs and had 4 RBI’S.  This was her first college home run.

Abi Folkkert went 3 for 5 on day 2 with a double and 1 RBI.
