RCTC holds on down the stretch for 70-67 win over MN West

Rochester, MN - Led by an outstanding all-around game put together by Ben Opsahl, the RCTC Yellowjackets downed the MN West Bluejays by the score of 70-67.  In a game that was tight throughout Opsahl, filled the stat sheet scoring 7 points, to go along with 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and a blocked shot.  Despite being bloodied taking a charge call down the stretch, he returned to the game to help the Jackets close it out.

The first half proved to be as close as it could get as both teams hit on 17 of 36 field golas and went into the break tied at 41.  In the second half both teams turned up the defensive intensity as the Jackets outscored the Jays 29-26 for the win.  Karmoga Lero led the Jackets with 16 points while Naa'il Mahdi had 14 and DaMIchael Brown had 10.The Yellowhjackets bench outscored the Jays 26-13, with Kong Nong adding 8 to Brown's 10 off the pine.  

RCTC heads to Riverland on Saturday to take on the Blued Devils with tip=off scheduled for 3:00pm
