St. Cloud, MN - The RCTC men's basketball team used balanced scoring and forced 19 turnovers in defeating St Cloud Tech Friday night 86-77. St. Cloud jumped out to an early lead in the game and held on for a 43-39 lead over the Yellowjackets at the half. RCTC then locked in offensively and turned up the defense in the second frame outscoring SCTCC 47-39 to close out the win.
RCTC had 5 players score in double figures, lead by Jumah'Ri Turner's 19 points. Joining Turner in double figues were: Dreem Kelly-Jabber (14), Ray Adams (12), Michael Cornelious (11), and Naa'il Mahdi (11). RCTC was lead by Tyree Caruthers with 10 rebounds.
The key to the Jackets success in the second half was thee pressure defense. Turning things up a notch RCTC forced the Cyclones into 19 turnovers for the game. The win moves RCTC to 12-2 on the season.
The Yellowjackets now have three consecutive home contests beginning with this Saturday's match-up versus Western Tech at 3:00 on the Performance COurt at RCTC.
