Big second half leads to road win...

Vermillion, MN - Jumah'Ri Turner and Tyree Caruthers each contributed double - doubles on the night to lead RCTC to a tought road win against Vermillion Community College tonight. The two Turner had 33 points and 11 boards while Caruthers added 11 points and 11 rebounds to pace the Jackets.  The game was extremely tight all the way with VCC taking a 45-39 lead into the locker room at half-time, before RCTC erupted for 53 points in the second half to propel them to the 92-89 victory.

Joining Turner and Cruthers in double figures were Ray Adams and Naa'il Mahdi each with 15 points.  In what was clearly a tight contest on the scoreboard, the statistcs showed an extremely competitive game as well.  RCTC held a 46% to 44.2% advatage in shooting. While VCC only turned tha ball over 9 times in the game compared to 12 for RCTC. The Jackets held a slight 44 - 40 rebounding advantage with both teams securing 13 offensive boards.  In a key set of statistics RCTC committed only 14 fouls for the contest (leading to VCC going 16-23 at the line), while VCC committed 22 fouls, giving RCTC a four point advantage at the charity stripe.

RCTC is right back in action, continuing their long road trip to Mesabi Range for a 3:00 game today (December 10th).
