Rochester, MN - It was all offense all the time on Saturday as the RCTC Yellowjackets made the long trek up to Ely, MN for a showdown against the Ironmen of Vermillion Community College. The Jackets, who boarded the bus at 4:30am to make the trip, got 7 touchdowns and 474 yards passing from Justin Lynn as they rolled past the Ironmen 63-25.
RCTC quarterback Justin Lynn had a career day as the Freshman threw for 474 yards and 7 touchdowns. Lynn hit on nearly 60% of his passes for the game. He had TD passes of 55, 34, 80, 45, 20, and 29 yards. Severyn Foster lead the way for the Jackets receiving core with 6 catches for 181 yards and 4 touchdowns. Michael Cole had 3 catches for 58 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Gerald Sama had a 45 yard touchdown catch.
The Yellowjackets piled up 570 yards of total offense in the contest.
RCTC is back in action for HOMECOMING on Saturday September 21st. The Jackets take on rival Central Lakes in a 7:00pm game under the lights at the Regional Sports Stadium. RCTC is now 3-1 on the season while Central Lakes comes in to the contest at 2-2, having lost their last two contests (MN West and Mesabi Range).
