Rochester, MN - The weekly awards for Justin Lynn continued today as the NJCAA announced Lynn as the recipient of NJCAA Football Offensive Player of the Week. This marks the third Yellowjacket to earn National Player of the week already this fall. Volleyball player Carrie Rutledge, and soccer goalkeeper Fatima Sanchez-Hernandez earned the National award earlier in the season.
For Lynn, the monster week came in his first career start as the Jackets downed Vermillion 63-25. Lynn threw for 7 touchdown passes and 490 yards in three quarters of action against the Ironmen. He completed 29-48 passes (60.4%) and averaged 10.4 yards per attempt. For the season he has thrown for 714 yards, 8 touchdowns and 3 interceptions, while completing nearly 53% of his passes. The Jackets set a school record in the game with 583 total passing yards.
Lynn and his Yellowjacket offense is set to take on rival Central Lakes on Saturday night at the Rochester Regional Stadium. Kickoff for the HOMECOMING GAME is set for 7:00pm.
