RCTC Football Well Represented on MCAC Eastern Division Team

Winona, MN - The Rochester Community and Technical College football teams season endedwith a playoff loss to Itasca, but the post-season awards have started rolling in.  The Yellowjackets placed 15 players on the three Divisional teams.

Leading the way for the Jackets on the first team were:

Justin Lynn, FR, QB, from Memphis, TN

Israel Lozoya, FR, RB, from Rochester, MN

Severyn Foster, FR, WR, from Lincoln, NE

Joshua Miser, FR, LB, from Hastings, MN

Braulio Arango-Aguilar, FR, K from Brooklyn Park, MN

Justin Lynn helped lead the nation's third ranked passing attack as the freshman averaged 196 ypg, including a 490 yard passing game against Vermillion that earned him National Player of the Week Honors. Israel Lozoya from Rochester Mayo HS had an outstanding freshman campaign as the dual threat running back had 7 touchdowns and averaged over 7 yards per carry while picking up 19 catches out of the backfield for an average of 10.3 yards per catch.

Severyn Foster lead all Yellowjacket receivers with 26 catches on the season.  The speedy receiver averaged 19.2 yards per catch and had 8 touchdowns on the season. Linebacker Josh Miser lead the Jackets in tackles with 57 and was second on the team in sacks with 5.  Miser also lead the team in tackles for loss with 9.5.

Kicker Braulio Arango-Aguilar hit on 29 of 32 extra points (91%) and 6 of 9 fieldgoals on the season.  He earned special teams player of the week twice for RCTC.

The Jackets also had five second team honorees:

WR, Phil Hillesheim

DB Keshon Williams 

WR Gerald Sama

while the honorable mention honorees included DB Bernard Charles; QB, Dylan VanBoxel; OL, Garrett Krueger; LB Corey Waller;  and DL Blake Snyder.

RCTC finished the regular season at 6-2 and then fell to Itasca in the MCAC quarterfinals.
