Virginia - MN - On a day when pointswere at a premium RCTC punter Dylan Dumarce may have been the busiest person on the field. Dumarce help keep the field position in the Yellowjacket's favor all day punting a career high nine (9) times during the game. The Yellowjackets defense proved vital as they held Mesabi to twelve total points (two field goals and one touchdown). The difference in the game was the Jackets ability to find the end zone twice leading to a 13-12 come from behind win to move into a tie for the league lead.
Along with Dumarce and the rest of RCTC's special teams it was the defense that set the tone in the game, sacking Mesabi quarterbacks 6.5 times and holding the Mesabi running game to only 63 yards. Brand Perce had a team leading 18 tackles, followed by Jamel Smith and Samer Sinclair with 13 and 11 tackles respectfully.
The RCTC offense which was held in check most of the day came up with the big play at the end of the game a 20 yard touchdown pass from Joe Lane to Davon Limes to lock up the win. Lane threw for 135 yards and 2 touchdowns on the day, while Trey Johnson hauled in the other touchdown pass and led the Jackets with 51 receiving yards.
