RCTC continues winning streak and earns home playoff game

Rochester, MN -  The RCTC Yellowjackets, led by a stout defense and stellar running game beat Ridgewater Community College 35-12 on Saturday.  The win locked up a first round home playoff game for the Jackets on Sunday, October 29th.

After a tightly contested first half in which neither team could get there offense going, RCTC turned up the effort and racked up over 351 total yards of offense outscoring the visitors 33 - 9 in the second half.  RCTC had four rushing touchdowns from their two running backs. Cazz Martin made it back to back stellar weeks with 149 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 21 carries.  Xavier Lawson also picked up two touchdowns and 50 yards on 11 carries.

RCTC's defense which has been solid all year but up another outstanding effort holding Ridgewater to only 70 total yards of offense and only 3 yards rushing.  Samer Sinclair and Sandillio Wright each contributed an interception for the Jackets.

RCTC will turn to the post-season hosting Measbi Range on Sunday, October 29th at 1:30.  The game will be played art the Rochester Regional Sports Stadium.  Mesabi and RCTC played a tight game up on the range earlier this season with Rochester pulling out a 13-12 win in the final minutes of the game.
