RCTC baseball runs winning streak to 7 straight with sweep of Western Tech

LaCrosse, WI - The RCTC Yellowjackets ran their winning streak to 7 games as they swept a road double header against Western Tech in LaCrosse.  In game one it was reigning MCAC Player of the week Jeremiah Van De Steeg getting the 7-2 win, whle Gannon Hank earned the 6-3 win in relief in game two.

In the opener Ethan Hurn proved to be the offensive leader as the sophomore went 2-4 with a homerun, a double, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Matt Rhodes was 2-3 with with a homerun and 2 RBI, while Zach Wolter added a double and RBI and 2 runs scored.  In picking up the win Van De Steeg went the distance throwing all 7 innings giving up 1 earned run, walking one and striking out 5.

The Jackets won game two in come from behind fashion as they trailed 3-0 heading into the sixth inning.  In the final two frames RCTC scored 6 unanswered runs to complete the sweep.  Jack Sperry was 1-4 with a double and 2 RBI, while Hurn picked up 2 more hits and scored.  Brad Barkema was 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored.  Ethan Hurn got thate start going 4 innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs while striking out 5 and walking 2.  Hank went 2 innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 3.  Parker Anderson picked up the save pitching the 7th inning.

The same two teams are back in action this Friday April 26th RBC #4 on the campus of Rochester COmmunity and Technical College.  First pitch is slated for 4:00pm
